Jakobsen second Dutch King

Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe), who won the first stage of the Tour of Turkey, and, this way, became the first King of the Sprint to successfully defend his title, also won the second stage of the Turkish race, but not from a bunch sprint, so the stage didn’t qualify as a title race. The third stage, which finished in the town of Edremit, did end in a mass sprint. Bennett only finished second, however – it was Deceuninck-Quick Steps Fabio Jakobsen who won the stage and won his first title, following three consecutive podium finishes (and also following a second consecutive win in the Scheldeprijs classic). Jakobsen’s title is the second for a Dutchman (after Dylan Groenewegen’s win in Paris-Nice), the fourth for Deceuninck-Quick Step and the seventh (!) for Specialized.
